Ritha is IN VOGUE!

As you know, our site founders are the lovely sisters Martha & Ritha.
And in the December at 5 o'clock when Ritha was going to buy her monthly Portuguese Vogue and opened it she saw there her name: Rita Santos!

It was a very exciting moment for me to see my name in Vogue, it actually made me feel like i was being accepted in the fashion world and i could really be a part of it in the future.

So, enough talk, and here's the small article that they published in Portuguese Vogue December issue:

It's the second article and you have to click on it to actually be able to read it. The article was actually bigger, but they had to shorten it up because it would fill up the all page!
So, for all of you not portugueses, here's a translation of what i wrote:

"I buy portuguese Vogue for some years now and i've been watching an amazing development.
I think it went from being a national fashion magazine to an european fashion magazine, always in vogue. In the other day, while I was going trought my old portuguese Vogues i noticed that, in 2006, the collections with a classic style, with fear, hats, black dresses (...) and scotish patterns had they "boom" like they're having this year. It just shows, that, for how much fashion changes, it also renews itself, keeping always the classic, just like Vogue.
About the last issue, i noticed that there was no longer the In & Out section, from which i was a big fan, and i loved Vogue vocabulary, the shopping section, and the cover, that, with the refined clothes from Alexander McQueen, would make any mortal want to buy the magazine.
Althought i'm still young, fashion has a huge importance for me, and so, Vogue will be the one to follow me in the journey into that world, making it better and better!"

P.S.: Youu know, since that issue from now on they introduced again the In & Out section! I felt very flattered!

Me, one of the founders of this blog, Ritha, took the photos while Martha, the other founder, posed like a jetseter!
This was the way she dressed to go to a kind of a "prom" in a bar.
The dress and necklace are from H&M, the coat from Zara, the bag from Acessorize and the glasses from Mango.
She adopted kind of classic meets modern style which really suited her.

She is the type of woman that changes her hair, lover or job whenever she feels like, without giving any satisfactions to anyone."
Talking about people, models, collections and mentalities, it is asked to the stylist what's the message he is trying to pass inviting fat women or old men to dress their collections and walk on the runway. Are you trying to tell the world that this women can also be attractive? The answer was precise: They CAN'T be attractive, they ARE attractive. Beauty can be seen in many ways. Looking at something we can always see its qualities and defects. There are plenty types of beauty, not only one.
After Madonna and Kylie Minogue, Gautier is now fascinated with the most recent (and polimical) pop star, Amy Winehouse. It reflects all that inspired him during the 80's: "I love her! I love the voice, the unic style and the rebel attitude!". Always in touch with what's new, he like to turn on the television on MTV when arrives home. Rarely buys CD's and prefers to ear musics from different artists.
As an artist, will you also have those ultradepressevice creation moments, when no one can get near you? "I prefer to think that it's not the most depressive moments that inspire me, or I will have too find problems in me to be able to create. I find that most people are more creative when they find themselfs a bit unbalanced.." In Gautier, this felling results in a universe of colours and textures that changed forever the fashion world, and in a strong and striking personality.

Ballerinas aren't just wonderful dancers who makes us believe in fairy tales, they are also one of this season inspiration to fashionistas and designers.
The grace of every movement and the classic white and pink outfits are captured in lot of creations of designers like Christopher Bailey, Christian Louboutin,Alexander McQueen and brands like Bimba & Lola.
Wonderful outfits inspired in the magical dances of ballerinas like Margot Foteyn aren't new. Yves Saint Laurent had already drawn for Zizi Jeanmaire the wardrobe for Les Forains, Gianni Versace for the ballet Josephlegend.
Altought this concept isn't new, this year it's made with a new aproach, with a more modern look but still capturing the old classic look, with new designers.
Since we are talking about ballet we thought it would be very interesting to put in here a music video where we can watch little ballerinas dancing in a funny way, but still showing us the magic of ballet and how wonderful it is, showing us why did the designers chosed this for his inspiration.
